Perforation cutting: Let’s rip into something new!
Perforation cutting adds a series of small cuts to the label material, allowing for easy tearing or folding without compromising the look or function of the label. There are two main ways of using perforated labels;
- If only the label itself is perforated, it will allow for an easy tear, for example if the label is intended to be used as a tamper-evident seal once it’s applied.
- However, if both the label and back lining is perforated it creates a label which can easily be torn off. This is especially useful for promotional coupons, product tags, or tickets where part of the label might need to be removed or separated by the customer.
Butt cutting: Seamless results, no waste
Butt cutting is all about maximising material use and minimising waste. Labels are cut edge-to-edge without any gap between them and is ideal for rectangular or square labels where the artwork does not go over the cutting edge.
