From kitchen experiments to a thriving distillery
Would you believe that Label Solutions first started supplying founder Rob Laming with labels when he was distilling gin in his kitchen? Fast forward seven years, and Rob is now in their second production unit, distilling gin, rum and other spirits.
A bit about Llanfairpwll Distillery
They started up in 2018 in the Welsh village of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. After continued success and many years of research they started making Anglesey Rum from scratch using 100% pure cane molasses, as well as blend and bottle some amazing rums from all over the world. Since 2020 they have been creating bespoke craft spirits for other companies, everything from recipe creation to bottling and labelling. Llanfairpwll Distillery is now one of only three rum distilleries in Wales, making craft gin and rum using a blend of local and international botanicals.

As an established and award winning craft spirits company they needed a reliable label printing company to make sure their drink and bottle labels are showcased in the best possible manner. Label Solutions’ team has therefore been in close contact with Llanfairpwll Distillery to offer our support.
Recently, our Technical Liaison Manager Steve Powell visited Rob’s distillery to ensure their label applications are running smoothly. Rob’s labels are applied using a DTM semi-automatic labeller, and he’s looking to streamline the process even further. During Steve’s latest visit, they talked labels, efficiency, and cost-saving magic. Rob is considering moving away from sheeted labels to improve application, and explore ways to standardize foil on his current designs to help with costs.
